Damage Control

Well, I weighed in this morning. It was pretty brutal. I gained 6.2 lbs. Ouch. I know a lot of that is probably water weight, considering I snacked on mostly salty stuff, but still. It’s amazing how quickly it comes back on.

But today is a fresh start. I’m going to get back on track and recover from this setback.

I ordered the same meal for each day, like I said I might try. Breakfasts this week = french toast; lunches = chessy enchilada; dinners = chicken fajitas; desserts = cheesecake/brownie/chocolate cake.

One advantage to this strategy is that it makes my coordinating fruits and veggies very easy to plan out for the week. For example, I know that I’ll want to have salsa and sauteed onions, peppers, and mushrooms to go with my enchiladas and fajitas, and strawberries or raspberries to go with my chocolate desserts. It keeps things very simple, and I already know that I will enjoy each meal for the week.

I also need to get back into a regular exercise routine. To have the energy to do that, I need to go to bed earlier each night.

So, to recap, here’s my plan of attack for the week:

  • Eat same meals each day, incorporating fresh fruits and veggies into each meal
  • Not have any extra food in the house beyond my JC meals and snacks
  • Get to bed by 10 pm each night
  • Go to the gym every day except Sunday (my day off from working out)
  • Journal every bite I put in my mouth
  • Continue reading self-help book on emotional eating, and do the exercises in the book/apply it to my life
