Temptation island…. remember that show? That was a stupid show. I’m not a fan of reality shows anyways but that one was particularly dumb. They should have just called it People in hot tubs making out island.
ANYWAYS…. back to MY temptation island….. Day 6….. I knew this was going to happen. I was going to have to eventually face the fact that in our culture, there is food EVERYWHERE, and it’s our answer to every event… Having a birthday? FOOD Getting Married? FOOD…. Someone die? FOOD… it’s Friday? FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODIt started first thing in the morning when a coworker brought donuts and kolaches, and I looooooooooooooooove kolaches. Then they were doing a fundraiser here at work for the march of dimes which was awesome but the handed out these little announcements stapled to snickers bars!! Then when I picked the kiddo up from school she had earned a bunch of candy doing this marketplace project thing for Spanish class. It was everywhere!! BUT I didn’t give in to any of them. Not even a kolache it was hard.
I gave my lunch friend the evil snickers bar. And despite the barrage of tempting goodies I stuck to my diet. The only thing I didn’t eat was my hardboiled egg that turned out to be neither hard nor boiled when I tried to peel the shell off and made a huge mess at my desk. It was kinda embarrassing. Story of my life
Day 7 was just as bad if not worse. Since I started the program this was my worst day for hunger. I was hungry ALL day…… then come to find out it was the birthday of the guy that sits behind me. And they not only brought him one birthday cake…. But TWO birthday cakes!!!!! I just sat at my desk and brooded, and wondered why it was necessary to have two friggin birthday cakes.
It was a miserable day. I was starving all day no matter what I ate. Then the child had a school presentation what was followed by cookies from the PTA moms. By time I got home I was about to kill someone. I ripped open my nutrisystem dinner and inhaled it. Not my proudest moment. I finished all my dinner items ate a nutrisystem dessert and promptly went to bed and over slept.
So far other than my cheat night and my embarrassing egg incident I have followed the program to a Tee. I did a little bit of research on the tummy issues and apparently a lot of people that start the nutrisystem program experience some gas issues as a result of the increase of fiber intake. They call it the “nutria-toots.” I can happily say that my experience with the nutria-toots has subsided and I hope it will stay that way.
