I had a really hard time at the gym tonight. I went in tired, which probably added to it. I got on the treadmill and only got up to 3.4 at a 5% incline. Then I was only able to do that for about 10 minutes before I felt dizzy and had to slow down to 3. Then I finally got up to 3.2 at a 4% incline and walked for 10 more minutes. I walked for a total of 30 minutes and burned 370 calories. So I hit the stair climber and did it for about 7 minutes and burned another 75 calories. So I managed to hit 445 calories, but feel much more tired than last night.
Decided I could probably use some ab work, so I did the exercise balls for 4 reps of 20. Felt every one of em too.
I wish I could see some results of my work now. I know it’s too much to ask for, but when I’ve “dieted” in the past, I could lose 5-7 pounds a week. And I know that working out builds muscle, so it comes off slower, but it’s still not as gratifying as seeing those numbers! I just have to keep telling myself that it’ll pay off in the long run.
I calculated my basal metabolic rate and at my current activity level, I have to consume approximately 3000 calories per day to stay at the weight I am now. I’m burning around 400 calories a day. I didn’t eat much today because I worked a 12 hour shift and just wasn’t hungry. I probably ate around 1000 calories. I know that I need to eat more though. That puts my calorie deficit at around 2400 calories. Not sure at this point, but maybe I just need to eat more.
*** update — felt really sluggish and couldn’t concentrate. I ate some fruit and feel much better. I definitely think I’m not eating enough.
