Starting Now

‘We place the highest value on the scarcest commodities.  M&M’s are made from cheap ingredients and available for easy grabbing on your way out the door at any convenience store.  But you won’t find diamonds within reach on aisle nine.  No, high quality diamonds are locked away behind the counter, and only serious buyers get to take a closer look.  Today, more than ever before, a woman of noble character is hard to find.  To be noble means to be dignified and gracious.  In the Amplified Bible, the word for noble is rendered “capable, intelligent, and virtuous.”  A woman like that is not easy to come by anymore.’

At the recommendation of a good friend of mine, I picked up Becoming the Woman God Wants Me to Be, A 90-Day Guide to Living the Proverbs 31 Life by Donna Partow.  I’m itching to start it, but think it’ll be best to start it after I move so that I can give it my undivided attention.  However, I realize how silly that is considering life is always going to be there, it is always going to happen and if I can’t make time for growth and for God when things are busy…who am I trying to fool?  He needs to be a priority in my life and I need to learn to make Him one.

I am praying that this study will help me to live life intentionally, to live life with purpose, to live life with passion.  There are so many areas of my life where growth is desperately needed.  So many areas where I am failing to be the person I should be, the person God intended me to be.
