Day 27

Rest (or X Stretch) - slept in ’til 9am

I should just start leaving out the X stretch part, since I’ve never done it nor do I think I will ever do it.  Frankly, when the end of the week rolls around I just don’t want to think about Tony Horton anymore.  The rest day is really just a break from his unfunny jokes, his super-fit, super-flexible cronies and from “bringing it” all the time.

Today is a momentous occasion, though.  It concludes my first month of the program (save for that day I lost when I readjusted the whole schedule.)  I don’t feel very different, though.  I don’t think I look different, either.  My clothes fit the same.  I can wear a tighter notch on my belt, but the usual one is fine.  I just don’t think the earth-shattering results I was secretly hoping for have occurred.  I’m no fool, of course.  I shouldn’t have expected to change the world with this, but I’ve seen other people’s blogs online and they seemed to have more change in their physique after only 28 days.  As a diabetic I know I should not have expected similar results, but yet I did.  Bah, that’s my mistake.  I know it, I own it.

Maybe the P90X Lean program isn’t what I should have started with.  I know Tony says its equally as hardcore as the Classic, but while the excessive cardio is probably great for my heart, its not really conducive to the more sudden, glorious musculature that I’ve seen develop on other people.

I’m going to read over the fitness guide again and make a decision today as to whether or not I wish to continue with the Lean program, or switch to the classic program for month 2.  As of right now, I don’t know.  The best way to make that kind of decision is to google even more blogs and see what other “real” people are doing.

Maybe I should take my pics today and use those to help gauge my decision.
